Manny Pacquiao's camp has responded to PRRD's controversial comments against a presidential candidate

Senator Manny Pacquiao, who is running for president in 2022, responded to President Rodrigo Duterte's accusation about a presidential candidate who is reportedly involved in illicit drug use.

The Chief Executive's comments sparked debate in the political sphere. Following that, Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto willingly submitted to a drug test, the results of which were negative. Former Senator Bongbong Marcos, who is running for president with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, submitted his drug test results to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in accordance with the President's blind item.

BBM, on the other hand, stated that he does not believe the president was referring to him when he stated that there is a presidential contender who uses drugs.

Manny Pacquiao's camp also disclosed a recent drug test result on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Inquirer, the drug test was conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) on July 28 and September 8 this year, before his bout against Youdenis Ugas in Las Vegas.

“In both tests, Pacquiao was found negative of any of the substances prohibited by the World Boxing Council (WBC),” the boxer-turned-politician said, adding that the test includes hundreds of substances outlawed by the WBC.
The statement went on to say that Pacquiao's drug test was more rigorous than usual drug testing in the Philippines. Furthermore, the presidential candidate's team, led by a PDP-Laban wing, stated that he will be subjected to a hair follicle test. Manny Pacquiao desired a laboratory that could provide quick findings.
